Daniel Ward

Photography was a large part of my life even at a young age.As a child i remember taking photos during the summer and feeling that i had caught a moment that would never exist again. The warm sunlight and meloncholy feeling those pictures created brings me back there even now.

I grew up in North London in the 80's,knowing that photography was what i wanted to do.Leaving education at 16 to attend film school. After a year i began assisting a fashion photographer on a freelance basis while continuing my studies.I would constantly test up and coming models and after finishing three years at film school and travelling the world assisting it was time to go out on my own.

Quickly i was shooting high end advertising campaigns and

editorial jobs.Still with a strong back ground in film it was only natural to move into directing and shooting moving image. This market exploded with realisation of the internet and power moving images had.

My work is now a mix of stills and motion and my experience of working closely with models on stills has transferred over into moving images.

I love what i do and it is so much more than a job.Still testing and travelling i am constantly findiing new stories to shoot and getting excited about ideas.

I have recently shot beauty films for Avon cosmetics and Estee Lauder and have begun editing a film i shot in Laos.

I have worked for a number of Editorial titles including Italian and British Grazia,Glamour,Conde Nast Traveller(covers) ,Cosmopolitan US,and Red magazine.

Please check out my blog to see what i have been shooting recently,
